What is ZED?

ZED is an agency built for Gen Z, by Gen Z. ZED’s mission is to deliver impactful work that resonates with a Gen Z audience, and also provide emerging creators with creative portfolio-building opportunities, as well as mentorship. We’re tired of cringe-worthy Gen Z marketing ploys that don’t resonate with us. We aren’t waiting around for things to change—we’re doing it ourselves. We are backed by our parent agency, Republic, which has worked with big brands like Canadian Tire, Muskoka Brewery, LEGO and more since 2013.

What does ZED do?

ZED is a marketing agency that partners with brands and businesses who want to create authentic connections with the Gen Z demographic. By collaborating with our ZED Network of Gen Z youth across Canada, we provide a range of services to our clients, including but not limited to:

  • Strategic Insights - Tap into a large network of socially active Gen Z, identifying what makes them tick and opportunities to engage in new and innovative ways. Connect with scale and speed with a network willing to offer their feedback to ensure you get to the most effective solution, in an efficient manner.

  • Content Co-Creation - Leverage the expertise of the network by putting our brief into the hands of our audience for truly audience generated contributions to our campaign, managed and guided by the ZED team.

  • Social Influencers - Deploy your final product through a network of social engaged members of Gen Z! 

Who’s in the ZED Network?

Our ZED Network is a collection of 16 to 24 year olds across Canada. The Network is comprised of a 50/50 mix of rural and urban Canadian youth, all of which are either in high school, early post secondary, or are not in school. They are socially saavy, counting top social media platforms Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, and identify across a range of heritages from Aboriginal, Hispanic, African American, Arabic, South or East Asian, and Caucasian. Why Gen Z?

Generation Z are a group of smart, entrepreneurial, socially conscious up-and-comers born between 1994 and 2003. This cohort is already fundamentally changing everything from food to social media to shopping and the workplace. Our spending power—estimated to be over $150 billion in North America—is unprecedented, yet brands are struggling to connect with us. We believe that ZED can be the catalyst to provide brands with what we are actually looking for, and the way we need it.

What’s the difference between the ZED team and the ZED Network?

The ZED Team is our in-house team focused on managing our clients, the ZED network and all ZED projects. The ZED Network is a crucial piece to the projects ZED works on, participating in content creation, surveys, focus groups, ideation sessions, and brainstorms.

How often are the surveys sent out?

Our surveys vary in frequency depending on our client work. Check your email inbox so you can be the first to know about our new surveys.

Do I get paid?

Of course! You will get compensated for the insights you contribute as a ZED Network member. Each email to our ZED Network will outline the details of that task’s payment.

How do I get paid?

We offer a range of rewards, spanning from gift cards to swag. Additionally, you can opt to have your compensation donated to the ZED Charity Partner of Choice.

How long does it take to get paid?

You will receive your compensation via email within 5-7 business days.

The ZED Team has over 26 years of combined experience in agencies and we’d love to share that knowledge with you. Your work with ZED will help shape the media of tomorrow. How much do I have to do?

You choose your level of involvement. If a survey pops into your inbox or a focus group date is set, you can either take part—or not. Participation is yours to decide.

Who can join the network?

We’re a Canadian company based in Toronto with the ZED Network spanning coast to coast, excluding Quebec. If you were born between 1995 and 2003, you are eligible to join the ZED Network. Bonus points if you’re a thoughtful, entrepreneurial and passionate person who wants to see serious changes in the way brands interact with Gen Zs.

Why can’t residents of Quebec join the ZED Network?

Unfortunately, due to the laws and legislation in Quebec we cannot offer ZED network membership to residents of Quebec. We are working on it and will be sure to update when we can.
